Kitten Sales:
My baby cats may go to their new homes no earlier than at 8 weeks of age in order to be certain they are fully weaned and properly socialized. I will watch the kittens to determine when the time is right, but you can expect your kitten to join your family when it's between 8 weeks and 12 weeks old.
It's important you understand: Buyers of Cat Chaser kittens must agree to keeping the kitten indoors. In addition, they must sign a spay/neuter agreement as part of the Kitten Sales Contract. The buyers will receive their kitten's individual Cat Registration Application ("blue slip") upon veterinary proof that it has been spayed/neutered.
When picking up your kitten, I will meet you at the Maine State Visitor Information Center; 1100 U.S. Route 1 (Exit 17 off I-295); Yarmouth, Maine 04096. Please be sure to bring a pet carrier along to safely transport your fluffy new family member.
Kittens must be picked up in person in Maine. I do not arrange for shipping of my kittens.
Health & Vaccination Schedule:
All Cat Chaser kittens are checked by a licensed veterinarian to ensure they are in good health before they leave the cattery. They will have received regular dewormings when they are 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 8 weeks old, as well as their first FVRCP (or distemper) shot in a series at 6-8 weeks old. After they go to their new homes, the kittens will need a second FVRCP shot when they are 10-12 weeks old, and the third FVRCP shot when they are 14-16 weeks old. Kittens must also be vaccinated against rabies when they are about 16 weeks old. After a kitten's first year, pet parents should follow their veterinarian's advice and kitten vaccination schedule to keep their Maine Coon safe and healthy throughout its life!
